Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a time-honored wellness practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves the gentle placement of very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body. This process is designed to support the body’s natural balance, encourage circulation, and promote overall wellness.
Many clients seek acupuncture to help support stress relief, pain management, energy balance, and relaxation. Treatments are personalized and often deeply calming, making acupuncture a valuable addition to a holistic wellness routine.

With 23 years of experience, Dr. Valerie Daverio, AP, D.O.M., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM) combines traditional Chinese medicine  with functional health strategies to help you heal from the inside out. From acupuncture and herbal medicine to advanced   therapies like microneedling, you’ll receive thoughtful, individualized care that addresses root causes—not just symptoms.

Does acupuncture hurt? Most clients feel little to no discomfort. The needles used are extremely thin—much finer than needles used for injections. Some people experience a mild sensation such as warmth, tingling, or heaviness at the insertion point.
What does a session feel like?Acupuncture sessions are typically very relaxing. Once the needles are placed, many clients feel calm, deeply relaxed, or even fall asleep during their treatment.
How long is an acupuncture session?A typical session lasts 45–60 minutes, including consultation and treatment time. Needle retention time may vary based on individual needs.
How should I prepare for my appointment? It’s best to eat a light meal beforehand and arrive well-hydrated. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to arms and legs.
Is acupuncture safe? When performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, acupuncture is considered safe. We use single-use, sterile needles and follow strict safety and sanitation protocols.
How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions varies depending on individual wellness goals. Some clients notice benefits after one session, while others experience the best results with a series of treatments.
Are there any side effects?Side effects are generally minimal. Some clients may experience mild soreness, slight bruising, or temporary fatigue after a session, which typically resolves quickly.
